Understanding Pakistani Dining Trends in the UAE

Pakistani restaurants in the UAE are more than dining spaces—they are places of cultural connection and community. To better understand consumer expectations in this sector, S & S Market Research & Consultancy carried out a survey of 412 respondents in Sharjah and Dubai

The study revealed that buffet dining remains the preferred format, offering variety and value. Many diners also expressed enthusiasm for floor seating and nostalgic desserts such as Gola Ganda, reflecting the desire to preserve traditions while dining out.

Beyond food, the findings highlighted the influence of social media. Diners are particularly responsive to high-quality visuals, reviews, and video content that showcase ambiance and authenticity. At the same time, practical expectations such as hygiene, affordability, parking, and consistency in taste strongly affect loyalty.

An important opportunity identified was the demand for catering services for weddings, birthdays, and community gatherings. This suggests that Pakistani restaurants can grow by extending services beyond dine-in and delivery.

Through this research, S & S Market Research & Consultancy brought forward actionable insights that demonstrate how restaurants can balance authenticity with modern convenience—an approach key to long-term success in a competitive market.
